Elevate is a small business grant program that assists with the growth and development of small businesses. Since 2018, more than 140 small businesses throughout Indiana and Michigan have used Elevate to help take their business to the next level. The grant can be used for property acquisition, facility expansion, workforce training, technology enhancements, and other business needs.
This year, Everwise sponsored the applications of two award recipients, CrossFit South Bend and ROCKaBLOCK.
CrossFit South Bend
CrossFit South Bend is a 6,500-square-foot facility on North Home Street in South Bend, IN offering a welcoming atmosphere and everything needed to get a great workout. They are known as the premier CrossFit facility in Michiana providing their members with top-of-the-line CrossFit equipment and resources.
Thrilled to receive the award, CrossFit South Bend owner, Brandon Wilton stated, “Winning the Elevate Small Business Grant will help us make a greater positive impact in our community by increasing our visibility, attracting individuals who are ready to start their health and fitness journey, and providing them with high quality facilities. Funding will go toward our rebranding efforts—creating a new logo, website, and marketing strategy—and upgrading our equipment, allowing us to serve more people and reinforce our commitment to elevating health and fitness standards locally.”
ROCKaBLOCK
ROCKaBLOCK is a lifestyle brand out of Merrillville, Indiana with a collection of apparel and accessories highlighting Black culture and racial equity. Founded by Rockland Page in 2017, the brand features unique, thought-provoking designs and has gained national attention with orders being shipped to over 30 states.
When asked what the elevate grant means to Rockland, he said, “The Elevate Small Business Grant means so much to me and my business. It lets me know that what I'm doing as a business owner matters and that people want to see me succeed. The funds from the grant will help ROCKaBLOCK purchase much needed screen-printing equipment, increase production capacity, and improve product quality.”
