Jim brings a wealth of experience to Everwise leadership. Spending his career in the education field, Jim served in roles as an elementary and middle school teacher, and a principal for Penn-Harris-Madison Schools. His last 11 years as an educator Jim served as superintendent for Baugo Community Schools. Recently, Jim came out of retirement to accept the superintendent position for Goshen Community Schools.
Prior to his career in education, Jim worked for Junior Achievement and provided treatment to children and adolescents at Oaklawn psychiatric centers. He holds a bachelor’s degree from DePauw University, a master’s degree from Indiana University South Bend, and an education specialist degree in educational leadership from Indiana University.
Jim has served on the boards of various organizations, including Oaklawn, Horizon Education Alliance of Elkhart County, the Elkhart and St. Joseph Counties Head Start Consortium, and the Elkhart County Special Education Cooperative. He is also the founder and CEO of Craftsman Mindset Consulting, which specializes in developing career pathways and apprenticeship programs.
